After Randeep Hooda, Virender Sehwag Tweets On The Kargil Martyr’s Daughter Controversy
Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to justify his stand on the controversy which took the nation by storm, as he was accused of bullying Kargil Martyr’s daughter Gurmehar Kaur
Just a day back, Randeep Hooda wrote a long letter on his Facebook page where he spoke about his side of the story in context to the recent Gurmehar Kaur’s controversy.
And now, cricketer Virender Sehwag has tweeted justifying his side. In his tweet he says “everyone has a right to express their views without being bullied or threatened. #GurmeharKaur or the Phogat sisters. (sic)”
Twitter went berserk with Sehwag and Hooda’s tweets which triggered anger and war on social media, as the two are being accused of trolling Kargil Martyr’s daughter Gurmehar Kaur, a student of Delhi's Lady Sri Ram College and daughter of Kargil martyr Captain Mandeep Singh. Gurmehar had raised her voice against ABVP. She made a Facebook post on February 22 with a photo of herself holding a placard that said, "I am a student from Delhi University. I am not afraid of ABVP. I am not alone. Every student of India is with me," and #studentsagainstABVP
And later yesterday, in a series of tweets, Gurmehar Kaur said, "To anyone questioning my courage and bravery. I've shown more than enough. I have been through a lot and this is all my 20 year self could take :) I'm withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I request to be left alone. I said what I had to say.”
On the political front, Mr Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of State for Home, tweeted, "Who's polluting this young girl's mind? A strong Arm Force prevents a war. India never attacked anyone but a weak India was always invaded."
